1. Family Night - 6/7/08
a. Bring your family and a dish to share with the other families in the community. If you like to grill, bring the meat and you can use the Center's grill.
b. The Center will provide plates, silverware and Water
c. We will eat at 6 PM. If your are to grill, please make sure your are there earlier
2. Kids Fun Day
Saturday, June/14/2008
Location: The Islamic center
Time: 2:00 Pm -5:00 Pm
The plan: playing indoor games, having dinner and getting prizes
Cost: $ 5 per child
Age: 4-12 - Boys and girls
Parents who want to sign their kids have to sign their names and pay in the office or send an email to sister Hadeel at the email below. The number is limited (30 kids). The dead line to sign the names and pay is June/6/2008, for any questions or concerns email: hadeelsharkh@hotmail.com
3. Father Kids FISHING Day - Sunday 6/22/2008
a. Big Creek Lake
b. We will meet at the Center at 8:30 am
c. Time of return is 1:30 pm
d. Bring your fishing gears
e. Bring Lunch for you and your kids
4. Quran and Arabic Classes for the summer. Kids and Adults
a. Please contact Imam Younis with your name and contact information if you are interested in either of both of these classes.
b. Tentative start date is 6/15 till 7/30
c. Classes will be for 1 hr twice a week. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 pm
d. Fees are $60 per participant
5. Pre- K and K. Kids ages 4 and 5 yrs old
a. Registration is open right now. Ask Imam Younis for registration form today
b. All registration must be completed by no later that June 30th , 2008
c. New Hours. 7 am to 6 pm Monday thru Friday
d. New staff with Certification
e. Following the Des Moines K curriculum
f. Regular Quran and Arabic Classes
g. Tuitions. $300/ month
h. Registration Fees $50
i. Activity fees. $100 per year per child
j. Limited Seating. Our Facility has limited occupancy of 35 kids. We have 15 seats available
k. Half Day Pre-k- is also available
Kids Story nights are back, we will have the first one this Friday 03/07/2008 and after that it will be EVERY FIRST FRIDAY OF EACH MONTH after Magrib prayer in the Islamic Center of Des Moines .
Come and join us for these special nights. All what you need to do is:
1. Finish your dinner
2. Make Wudu
3. Brush your teeth
4. Put on your pajamas
5. Come to the center and pray Magrib
Then you are ready for the journey.
Teddies are welcomed you should be 5 years and up to ride
Things to bring
Every child brings a small picture or any size of him/herself to put it in the passport. and if they have shoe boxes we need them for next time project inshalla... at least we need 25 shoe boxes.
Please make sure you thank the sisters working with the kids on this.
Community Potluck
It is always nice to bring our community together for a nice meal together. The Community Potluck will be EVERY FIRT SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH after magrib prayer. The first one will be this Saturday 03/09/2008
Lunch to go
Most of us are usually in a rush to get to back to work after Friday prayer with no time for lunch. To make it easier for our brothers and sisters, the sister committee will be selling lunches to go after every Friday prayer (except Ramadan) starting this Friday 03/07/2008
